Outer Ring Road System - Upgrading Projects

Upgrading Projects

The first upgrading project started in 1994, with two intersections along Farrer Road being the first to be upgraded. The upgrading projects had to be carried out in stages in order to minimise disruption to traffic. The completion of the Portsdown Flyover, Queensway Flyover and Queensway Underpass marks another milestone in the realisation of the ORRS. The Farrer Road section of the upgrading project is expected to be completed by 2009.

Famous quotes containing the word projects:

But look what we have built ... low-income projects that become worse centers of delinquency, vandalism and general social hopelessness than the slums they were supposed to replace.... Cultural centers that are unable to support a good bookstore. Civic centers that are avoided by everyone but bums.... Promenades that go from no place to nowhere and have no promenaders. Expressways that eviscerate great cities. This is not the rebuilding of cities. This is the sacking of cities.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
