Optical Disc Recording Modes - Audio Master Quality Recording

Yamaha's Audio Master Quality Recording is intended for maximum compatibility audio CDs, but is only available on some models, notably the CRW3200 series and the F1 series.

It uses a Disc At Once method with a fixed linear recording speed of 1.4 m/s, burning longer, sharper pits and lands. Since the pits and lands are longer, the quantity of information that can fit on a disc is less than with a normal method: 63 minutes instead of 74 minutes on a 650meg CD, and 68 minutes instead of 80 minutes on a 700meg CD.

The main advantage of this recording mode is an easier to read audio CD.

Famous quotes containing the words master, quality and/or recording:

Man acts as though he were the shaper and master of language, while in fact language remains the master of man.
    Martin Heidegger (1889–1976)

The pleasure we derive from the representation of the present is due, not only to the beauty it can be clothed in, but also to its essential quality of being the present.
    Charles Baudelaire (1821–1867)

I didn’t have to think up so much as a comma or a semicolon; it was all given, straight from the celestial recording room. Weary, I would beg for a break, an intermission, time enough, let’s say, to go to the toilet or take a breath of fresh air on the balcony. Nothing doing!
    Henry Miller (1891–1980)
