Old Catholic Ministry - Individual Clergy

Individual Clergy

Old Catholic ministry traditionally develops through the personal skills and talents of the individual clergyman rather than from a centralised ministry plan. The ministry is often a source of commitment for the clergyman in question and something clergy has been involved in for many years. Sometimes the ministry is a new development. In the United Kingdom there is evidence of partnership working between orthodox Old Catholic groups through an umbrella organisation known as couspp.

Famous quotes containing the words individual and/or clergy:

The words of the Constitution ... are so unrestricted by their intrinsic meaning or by their history or by tradition or by prior decisions that they leave the individual Justice free, if indeed they do not compel him, to gather meaning not from reading the Constitution but from reading life.
    Felix Frankfurter (1882–1965)

...I do deeply deplore, of the sake of the cause, the prevalent notion, that the clergy must be had, either by persuasion or by bribery. They will not need persuasion or bribery, if their hearts are with us; if they are not, we are better without them. It is idle to suppose that the kingdom of heaven cannot come on earth, without their cooperation.
    Sarah M. Grimke (1792–1873)
