New York State Route 149 - Future

Future

NY 149 was upgraded in the late 2000s between Martindale Road in Queensbury and the Washington County line. The project included the straightening of several curves and leveling of some depressions in the grade. Planning for the project began in mid-2006, and opening bids started in late 2008. Construction began in early 2009 and was expected to be completed in mid-2010. The project cost $8.6 million in federal and state funding. NYSDOT has also opened a webpage for a future project to widen the intersection between US 4 and NY 149 in the village of Fort Ann. Development of the $1.1 million project was expected to begin in late 2009; however, it has been postponed indefinitely.

Famous quotes containing the word future:

I would sum up my fear about the future in one word: boring. And that’s my one fear: that everything has happened; nothing exciting or new or interesting is ever going to happen again ... the future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul.
    —J.G. (James Graham)

If nations always moved from one set of furnished rooms to another—and always into a better set—things might be easier, but the trouble is that there is no one to prepare the new rooms. The future is worse than the ocean—there is nothing there. It will be what men and circumstances make it.
    Alexander Herzen (1812–1870)

Give me insight into today and you may have the antique and future worlds.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
