- In 2007, the song was featured in the Family Guy episode "Meet the Quagmires", as part of a parody of the "Johnny B. Goode" scene from Back to the Future. Brian performs the song while playing the keytar. The episode makes disparaging references to Astley and his song, between Brian preceding his performance by saying "Here's a song by a gay guy" (Astley is straight in real life) and a riff on the "Marvin Berry" joke in Future when the musician "Marvin Astley" calls his cousin to say: "You know that mediocre, generic sound you've been looking for? Well, listen to this!"
