National Transmission Corporation - History

History

TransCo was previously an integral part of the state-owned National Power Corporation created under the Electric Power Industry Reform Act which describes TransCo as its "crown jewel", as a step to privatize the nation's electric industry.

TransCo has been separated from Napocor since March 1, 2003. Its transmission lines links various power plants, distribution utilities (such as Meralco) and electric cooperatives all over the Philippines.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

The myth of independence from the mother is abandoned in mid- life as women learn new routes around the mother—both the mother without and the mother within. A mid-life daughter may reengage with a mother or put new controls on care and set limits to love. But whatever she does, her child’s history is never finished.
    Terri Apter (20th century)

The history of mankind interests us only as it exhibits a steady gain of truth and right, in the incessant conflict which it records between the material and the moral nature.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The history of this country was made largely by people who wanted to be left alone. Those who could not thrive when left to themselves never felt at ease in America.
    Eric Hoffer (1902–1983)
