National Board of Review of Motion Pictures - Films in Review

Films in Review

The boards's official magazine had existed in several forms and different names since it inception. In 1950 the magazine changed its name from Screen Magazine, and launched the first issue as Films in Review on February 1, 1950. When the non profit NBR sold the magazine due to increased operating expenses, it was purchased by Roy Frumkes and partner Joe Anderson, under the corporate name Then and There Media LLC, and is currently maintained as a webzine with an archive of the hardcopy magazine going back up to 60 years.

Famous quotes containing the words films and/or review:

    Andy Warhol (c. 1928–1987)

The result is that a substantial amount of confusion, ambivalence, guilt, and anxiety is experienced by working mothers. Our cultural expectations of mother and realities of female participation in the labor force are directly contradictory.
Ruth E. Zambrana, U.S. researcher, M. Hurst, and R.L. Hite. “The Working Mother in Contemporary Perspectives: A Review of Literature,” Pediatrics (December 1979)
