National Association of Independent Review Organizations

The National Association of Independent Review Organizations (NAIRO) is a trade organization of URAC-accredited independent review organizations (IROs) that seeks to educate consumers, medical professionals and policymakers about the independent medical review process. Using the expertise of hundreds of board-certified clinicians nationwide, its members use an evidence-based medical case review approach to resolve coverage disputes between enrollees and their health plans.

The need for uniform regulations from state to state and a uniform application process is what brought NAIRO members together. Their goal is to simplify the regulated IRO/ERO application process and review requirements among the states.

Famous quotes containing the words national, association, independent and/or review:

    The progress
Is permanent like the preordained bulk
    Of the First National Bank
    Like fish sauce, but agreeable.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

It is not merely the likeness which is precious ... but the association and the sense of nearness involved in the thing ... the fact of the very shadow of the person lying there fixed forever! It is the very sanctification of portraits I think—and it is not at all monstrous in me to say ... that I would rather have such a memorial of one I dearly loved, than the noblest Artist’s work ever produced.
    Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806–1861)

The best way of learning to be an independent sovereign state is to be an independent sovereign state.
    Kwame Nkrumah (1900–1972)

I review novels to make money, because it is easier for a sluggard to write an article a fortnight than a book a year, because the writer is soothed by the opiate of action, the crank by posing as a good journalist, and having an airhole. I dislike it. I do it and I am always resolving to give it up.
    Cyril Connolly (1903–1974)
