Most of the area of these hilly hamlets is covered with trees. Peaks are covered with evergreen trees including pine, walnut, oak and maple trees. Herbs, shrubs, wild flowers and thorny bushes can be seen in abundance. Goats and other pet animals graze the pastures. Wood is the primary source of fuel and home construction.

Famous quotes containing the word forests:
“The great pines stand at a considerable distance from each other. Each tree grows alone, murmurs alone, thinks alone. They do not intrude upon each other. The Navajos are not much in the habit of giving or of asking help. Their language is not a communicative one, and they never attempt an interchange of personality in speech. Over their forests there is the same inexorable reserve. Each tree has its exalted power to bear.”
—Willa Cather (18731947)
“What forests of laurel we bring, and the tears of mankind, to those who stood firm against the opinion of their contemporaries!”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Our village life would stagnate if it were not for the unexplored forests and meadows which surround it.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
