Branches
Expatriate Nairs both in other states of India as well as in countries other than India have formed Nair Service Societies in their states and countries of domicile. Examples are Karnataka Nair Service Society with 30 karayogams, Kanyakumari Nair Service Society with 27 karayogams and the Calcutta Nair Service Society. These Societies of Non Kerala origin retain the cultural uniqueness of the Nairs at the same time adapting many practices to the times and country of their adoption. Efforts are on to bring together all Nair groups the world over under an umbrella International Federation of Nair Societies. N.S.S. has also formed a branch in Rajasthan (in Udaipur). There is a branch of NSS in Dilanipur, Port Blair. NSS Vidharbha, which unites Nairs living in the Vidharbha region of Maharashtra, is having branches in Nagpur and Chandrapur. The organisation is reported to have branches in many other parts of India.
The Kasargode Nair Expatriates Welfare Association is active in many of the Gulf nations, with significant North Malabar Nair diaspora.

Famous quotes containing the word branches:
“Certain branches cut
certain leaves fallen
the grapes
cooked and put up
for winter”
—Denise Levertov (b. 1923)
“...there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease. Though its root grows old in the earth, and its stump dies in the ground, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth branches like a young plant. But mortals die, and are laid low; humans expire, and where are they?”
—Bible: Hebrew, Job 14:7-10.
“In the woods in a winter afternoon one will see as readily the origin of the stained glass window, with which Gothic cathedrals are adorned, in the colors of the western sky seen through the bare and crossing branches of the forest.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
