Monty Python's Fliegender Zirkus - Lost Sketches

Lost Sketches

Several behind-the-scenes photos from the specials' production were published in the group's autobiography, some of which were from sketches cut from the specials:

  • A version of the "Marriage Guidance Counsellor" sketch.
  • A sketch involving a flute player (Graham Chapman) in front of a German sign.
  • A version of the "Sir Edward Ross" sketch
  • An alternate ending to the first special, in which two stage hands are carrying a giant sign that says ENDE off a huge field. Behind the sign is Terry Jones' singer character from the Albrecht Dürer sketch.

Famous quotes containing the words lost and/or sketches:

Too many Broadway actors in motion pictures lost their grip on success—had a feeling that none of it had ever happened on that sun-drenched coast, that the coast itself did not exist, there was no California. It had dropped away like a hasty dream and nothing could ever have been like the things they thought they remembered.
    Mae West (1892–1980)

Giles Lacey: I say, old boy, I’m trying to find exactly what your wife does do.
Maxim de Winter: She sketches a little.
Giles Lacey: Sketches. Oh not this modern stuff, I hope. You know, portrait of a lamp shade upside down to represent a soul in torment.
    Robert E. Sherwood (1896–1955)
