The Mo’men Brothers opened their first restaurant in Heliopolis in 1988, with a capital of 12,000 L.E.. At that time, Egypt was opening itself to international franchises and many were waiting for the arrival of American fast food chains such as McDonald's and KFC. Instead, fast food chains such as Mo'men were started and began offering these options instead. Today, Mo'men Restaurants' chain is steadily becoming one of the largest restaurants chains in Egypt in terms of average sales and number of customers per restaurant, with 57 restaurants serving over ten million customers a year. Mo’men restaurants are serving more than double the number of customers and achieving double the sales per restaurant, if compared with any of the international chains operating in Egypt.
