Origin
Like some other Middle Eastern ethnic groups, the Baloch claim Arabian extraction, however this is disputed, asserting that they are descendant of Hamza Ibn 'Abdul-Muttalib, a paternal uncle and Sahabi (Companion) of Islamic Prophet Muhammad. They consistently place their first settlement in Aleppo, where they remained until, siding the sons of Hazrat Ali and taking part in the Battle of Karbala, they were expelled by Yazid I, the second of the Umayyad Caliphs, in 680 A.D. Their migration took them first to the area of Alborz mountain range in northern Iran, Qazvin, And then fled to the eastern regions of Kerman and Sistan then finally settled into Makran, and other parts of Pakistan mostly into Sindh province (Southern Pakistan), where they are known as Sindhi Baloch. Climatic conditions forced them to migrate from the deserts and mountains to the cities and oases. However it is stated that they were forced to leave Aleppo by Yazid I.

Famous quotes containing the word origin:
“The essence of morality is a questioning about morality; and the decisive move of human life is to use ceaselessly all light to look for the origin of the opposition between good and evil.”
—Georges Bataille (18971962)
“Someone had literally run to earth
In an old cellar hole in a byroad
The origin of all the family there.
Thence they were sprung, so numerous a tribe
That now not all the houses left in town
Made shift to shelter them without the help
Of here and there a tent in grove and orchard.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“The real, then, is that which, sooner or later, information and reasoning would finally result in, and which is therefore independent of the vagaries of me and you. Thus, the very origin of the conception of reality shows that this conception essentially involves the notion of a COMMUNITY, without definite limits, and capable of a definite increase of knowledge.”
—Charles Sanders Peirce (18391914)
