Ministry of Natural Resources (Ontario) - History

History

The first government ministry responsible for the portfolio was created in 1764 and named the Ontario Surveyor's Office (1764–1791), in the Province of Quebec.

The ministry came into existence in 1972 and prior to that similar responsibilities were handled by the former Ontario Department of Lands and Forests.
