Milkshake - in Popular Culture

In Popular Culture

"Milkshake" is the title of a 2003 R&B–electro song written and produced by The Neptunes for American singer Kelis' third studio album, Tasty. It reached the top ten in the United Kingdom, Australia and the Netherlands, and became Kelis' biggest success to date on Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, peaking at number three. The song became an Internet meme following the release of Paul Thomas Anderson's 2007 film There Will Be Blood, in which scenes from the film (most notably from its famous "I drink your milkshake" scene) were edited to the song. The line became something of a catchphrase for the film and gained moderate recognition in popular culture following the film's release.

Famous quotes containing the words popular and/or culture:

You are, I am sure, aware that genuine popular support in the United States is required to carry out any Government policy, foreign or domestic. The American people make up their own minds and no governmental action can change it.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)

... there are some who, believing that all is for the best in the best of possible worlds, and that to-morrow is necessarily better than to-day, may think that if culture is a good thing we shall infallibly be found to have more of it that we had a generation since; and that if we can be shown not to have more of it, it can be shown not to be worth seeking.
    Katharine Fullerton Gerould (1879–1944)
