Early Life
Percy Carey grew up in the Upper West Side section of Manhattan. His neighbor, Morgan Freeman, helped arrange for him to be cast as a child actor on Sesame Street, which he did for four years.
"One episode, I lost my tooth, and me and Big Bird had to go through Sesame Street and try to find it," Carey remembers.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:
“the cluttered eyes
of early mysterious night.”
—Imamu Amiri Baraka (b. 1934)
“The militancy of men, through all the centuries, has drenched the world with blood, and for these deeds of horror and destruction men have been rewarded with monuments, with great songs and epics. The militancy of women has harmed no human life save the lives of those who fought the battle of righteousness. Time alone will reveal what reward will be allotted to women.”
—Emmeline Pankhurst (1858–1928)
