A sequel, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, was released in 2003. The third game, Max Payne 3 (developed by a different development team), was released in 2012.
Max Payne, a film loosely based on the video game, was released in 2008, starring Mark Wahlberg as Max and Mila Kunis as Mona.
