Geography

Market Deeping the second largest of The Deepings. The river forms the Lincolnshire-Cambridgeshire border with Peterborough about 8 miles (12.9 km) away. Situated at the southern extremity of Lincolnshire, the town forms part of the border with the Peterborough City Council.

The town is known for its stone buildings dating back to the 17th century, its largely 15th century church dedicated to St. Guthlac and the remains of a market cross.

The town has 2,462 households.

The current mayor is Reg Howard.
