Biography

Manfred Baumann was born on March 1. 1968 in Vienna. He names until today his grandfather, who was also a photographer, as one of his biggest inspiration sources. It was also his grandfather who supported him as a photographer while he gave to him his first camera, a Praktika.

He grew up in the 13th district of Vienna and attended there the school until he absolved there his secondary modern school graduation. After his school career he decided to start as a 16 year old boy an apprenticeship in one of the most traditional shops in Vienna, at Julius Meinl. Also he was there for about one year shop manager. In 1990 he finally started with working in photography and started then to work in professional way. 1995 he break all connections and went with his girlfriend Nelly to Canada to work there as a photographer. But just after two years both had to take the way back to Vienna.

But still he kept on with working in photography and tried again to start his own business with photography. He rented a premise in Vienna and started with simple jobs as photographer. The concept worked and so he had after a short time more and more productions. Then in 2002 he also started to make the first steps into the national industry and began to photograph celebrities and to portray them. In 2005 he finally had his international breakthrough. After that shootings with international celebrities like: John Malkovich, Paul Anka, Tony Curtis, Juliette Lewis, Dolph Lundgren, Kathleen Turner, Steve Guttenberg, Bai Ling, Sofia Milos and a lot more followed.

Also Manfred Baumann works into the direction of Fine Nude Art. A lot of his pictures you can also see in his publications. In the course of time his style become very different also in this direction. Today it is more a story which he is telling with his pictures then just to show naked skin. His best Fine Nude art pictures you can find in every year since 2008 in his calendar.

Not at least the landscape photographs are also belong to the work of Manfred Baumann. One of his best travel pictures is a shot of New York. Manfred Baumann is married with Nelly Baumann. He lives and works alternately in Europe and Los Angeles.
