Mallinath

Mallinath (Hindi: माल्लीनाथ, Jain Prakrit: माल्लिणाह "Lord Jasmine") was the nineteenth Tīrthaṅkara "Ford-Maker" of the present avasarpiṇī age in Jainism. According to Jain beliefs, Mallinath became a siddha - a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma. Śvētāmbara Jaina beliefs hold that Mallinath was female, making her the only woman to become a Tīrthaṅkara in the present age. According to the original tradition of jains i.e.Digambara beliefs, Mallinath was male and one can attain moksha or be born as tirthankar only as male.

Jain scriptures indicate Mallinath was born at Mithila into the Ikshvaku dynasty to King Kumbha Raja and Queen Prabhavati Rani.
