Lo-Pro - Side-projects

Side-projects

Various band members have been up to projects since the formation of Lo-Pro as well, especially during the time since parting ways with Geffen Records. They include:

  • Pete Murray co-produced Ghost Machine's self-titled debut, released in 2005. He also provided vocals on one track.
  • Pete Murray formed a band named Chokt in 2006, featuring himself on vocals, and both Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward, and John Stevens of Ghost Machine on guitar, bass, and electronics. (They use a drum machine.) They have not had any official releases, but much like the current state of Lo-Pro, they have slowly leaked various songs for streaming over the years, the latest track, "Only You", being streamed just before Lo-Pro digitally released the Letting Go EP. While it has been described as a way of exploring songs that do not fit for Lo-Pro, tracks such as "Magazine" and "Train Home to Nothing" do have a very similar sound to Lo-Pro's music. Their Myspace is www.myspace.com/chokeoff.
  • John Fahnestock played bass for a band named "Noise Within". Starting in 2008 he is also participating in a Snot reunion (albeit with a new frontman.)
  • Tommy Stewart has done some touring with Fuel. He also did some work with Rusty Wright Blues. In Summer 2008, he had become the replacement drummer for the band Everclear. This lasted about a year, until July 2009, when lead singer Art Alexakis disbanded everyone from the band except for himself. Tommy Stewart started playing with Lo-Pro again around that same time to tour in support of the Letting Go EP. He has also played percussion for Dharma Gypsys, which is a project by Daniel Overberger combining kirtan and rock music.
