Series 7 (2008)
Series 7 began on 28 January 2008 and introduced several new changes. The warriors' outfits were updated, and now included a padded top (to ward off the winter cold as this was the first series to be shot in winter), and the colours were altered slightly. The emblems were given new prominence in the show, and the story behind their creation was detailed before the title sequence on the first day of each week, explaining how the symbols were used to restore light and sorcery to Raven's homeland before Nevar rose to threaten the land once more. Before a warrior undertakes a challenge, the emblem is displayed along with their warrior name. Special effects were also improved as the series was filmed for the first time in HD (High Definition), as was the music between challenges, comprising a new theme as well as improved versions of those from the three previous series.
The Way of the Warrior was also changed, switching the positions of the blades and the shields. Once again, no-one completed the challenge, but the warrior who reached the furthest point was Danil, who got to the last closing jaw before the portal, before grazing his leg against the side - the closest a warrior that hasn't completed it has ever come to completing the challenge. During the final week, the warrior in last place faced the Way of the Warrior starting from the first day, rather than the second, as in previous series; this was done to ensure only two warriors would remain on the final day. Danil, Lenat and Anmah were in the first all-boys final at the end of the week after Ardhu Dylar and Vansha were eliminated.
This series also had one of the closest ever finishes on the Last Stand in week two. Despite being in last place Danil entered the portal first, almost a minute quicker than the other two, and Anmah and Lenat remained. Anmah, who had been in first place, was ahead of Lenat for most of the challenge but had trouble connecting his cylinder to the rope line, allowing Lenat to catch up. It was then up to who slotted their cylinder in first and Lenat ultimately beat Anmah to the portal by about one second. Anmah was then blasted by Nevar just as he was about to enter the portal. Lenat is the first warrior to have the water symbol in the final and to not reach the final 3 as well as being the first male wave warrior not to reach the final. In both her heat and the final, Hanso started day 5 leading, but failed all of the day's trials, causing her to have to face the Last Stand significantly behind.
This series became the first and only ever where there 5 male finalist's and 1 female if Lipra had made it to the final's instead of Hanso then it would have been an all male final round with 6 male finalist's and there would have been at least 1 male finalist for the first ever time that had the sun as their second and new emblem
Challenges that were new to this series that did not return in later series were Spider's Web Loch Leap Cliff Face Target Run Wrestling Ring Fire Water The Chasm Boulder Run and Lava Pitt
In this series Ring Rack returned but was only played once in the final week similar to when the Deep Loch Challenge was only played once in the final week of series 4
