HMS Vanguard
Vanguard was the last Royal Navy battleship, she was designed to use the 15 inch gun mountings removed from Glorious and Courageous when they were converted to aircraft carriers. Vanguard was launched in 1944 but not completed until after the Second World War in 1946. Vanguard was never involved in any conflict and never fired a shot in anger before she was finally scrapped in 1960. Secondary armaments was sixteen 5.25 inch dual purpose guns in twin turrets. There were also ten six-barrelled 40 mm Bofors, one twin STAAG mount and eleven single 40 mm Bofors mountings.
