Foreign Contacts
The LDPD had contacts with Eastern European and Asian parties that represented the liberal ideology: Polish Democratic Party (Stronnictwo Demokratyczne, SD), the Czechoslovak Socialist Party (Československá strana socialistická, CSS), the Democratic Party of Vietnam and the Korean Democratic Party (Chõson Sahoeminjudang, CS). The Liberal Democratic Party of GDR also had some contacts with the West German FDP; in 1960s and 1970s, the relations were cool, but contacts intensified in 1980s.

Famous quotes containing the words foreign and/or contacts:
“There seeps from heavily jowled or hawk-like foreign faces
The guttural sorrow of the refugees.”
—Louis MacNeice (19071963)
“Living more lives than one, knowing people of all classes, all shades of opinion, monarchists, republicans, socialists, anarchists, has had a salutary effect on my mind. If every year of my life, every month of the year, I had lived with reformers and crusaders I should be, by this time, a fanatic. As it is I have had such varied things to do, I have had so many different contacts that I am not even very much of a crank.”
—Rheta Childe Dorr (18661948)
