Lennox Yearwood

Lennox Yearwood, Jr. is a minister, community activist and is considered an influential member of political hip hop.

Yearwood currently serves as President of the Hip Hop Caucus in Washington, D.C., United States (US). The Hip Hop Caucus is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that engages young people from urban communities in elections, policy making and service projects. Yearwood was a co-creator of the 2004 campaign, "Vote or Die", with Sean "Diddy" Combs, the Political and Grassroots Director for Russell Simmons' Hip Hop Summit Action Network in 2003 and 2004, and a Senior Consultant to Jay-Z's Voice Your Choice. In 2008, Yearwood created "Respect My Vote!", a voter registration and engagement campaign, with T.I. and Keyshia Cole.
