Basic Assumptions of The Model
Inherent within this model, the following assumptions are valid specifically for the simplest case: the adsorption of a single adsorbate onto a series of equivalent sites on the surface of the solid.
- The surface containing the adsorbing sites is perfectly flat plane with no corrugations (assume the surface is homogeneous) .
- The adsorbing gas adsorbs into an immobile state.
- All sites are equivalent.
- Each site can hold at most one molecule of A (mono-layer coverage only).
- There are no interactions between adsorbate molecules on adjacent sites.

Famous quotes containing the words basic, assumptions and/or model:
“... the basic experience of everyone is the experience of human limitation.”
—Flannery OConnor (19251964)
“Unlike Boswell, whose Journals record a long and unrewarded search for a self, Johnson possessed a formidable one. His life in Londonhe arrived twenty-five years earlier than Boswellturned out to be a long defense of the values of Augustan humanism against the pressures of other possibilities. In contrast to Boswell, Johnson possesses an identity not because he has gone in search of one, but because of his allegiance to a set of assumptions that he regards as objectively true.”
—Jeffrey Hart (b. 1930)
“There are very many characteristics which go into making a model civil servant. Prominent among them are probity, industry, good sense, good habits, good temper, patience, order, courtesy, tact, self-reliance, many deference to superior officers, and many consideration for inferiors.”
—Chester A. Arthur (18291886)
