Ladies European Tour

The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1979. It is based in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, and the largest non-European contingent by far comes from Australia.

Famous quotes containing the words ladies, european and/or tour:

I don’t think the ladies in town accepted the fact that I worked. That was the point at which I said to myself, well, you’re always going to be out of step and you might as well face it.
    Ellen Rodgers (b. c. 1930)

What is the first thing that savage tribes accept from Europeans nowadays? Brandy and Christianity, the European narcotics.—And what is it that most rapidly leads to their destruction?—The European narcotics.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

Left Washington, September 6, on a tour through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia.... Absent nineteen days. Received every where heartily. The country is again one and united! I am very happy to be able to feel that the course taken has turned out so well.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
