Kroni - Fragments of Kroni

Fragments of Kroni

The six fragments of Kroni were then born as evil spirits (or Asuras) in six successive Yukams (aeons). In all the yukams Mayon had to incarnate in the world to destroy the evils. The six fragments were known as

  1. Kuntomasali
  2. Thillaimallalan and Mallosivakanan
  3. Suraparppan Sinkamukasuran and Iraniyan
  4. Ravanan
  5. Thuriyothanan and the Ninety-nine Brothers
  6. Kaliyan

Famous quotes containing the words fragments of and/or fragments:

The instincts of merry England lingered on here with exceptional vitality, and the symbolic customs which tradition has attached to each season of the year were yet a reality on Egdon. Indeed, the impulses of all such outlandish hamlets are pagan still: in these spots homage to nature, self-adoration, frantic gaieties, fragments of Teutonic rites to divinities whose names are forgotten, seem in some way or other to have survived mediaeval doctrine.
    Thomas Hardy (1840–1928)

The vast results obtained by Science are won by no mystical faculties, by no mental processes other than those which are practiced by every one of us, in the humblest and meanest affairs of life. A detective policeman discovers a burglar from the marks made by his shoe, by a mental process identical with that by which Cuvier restored the extinct animals of Montmartre from fragments of their bones.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
