Knowlton Township is located at 40°55′45″N 75°03′42″W / 40.929261°N 75.061796°W / 40.929261; -75.061796 (40.929261,-75.061796). According to the United States Census Bureau, the township had a total area of 25.329 square miles (65.602 km2), of which, 24.749 square miles (64.100 km2) of it is land and 0.580 square miles (1.503 km2) of it (2.29%) is water. The township is located in the Kittatinny Valley which is a section of the Great Appalachian Valley that stretches 700 miles (1,100 km) from Canada to Alabama.
