Kids in Need Foundation - Teacher Grants

Teacher Grants

Kids In Need Teacher Grants provide funds ($100–$500) for teachers with innovative learning ideas for their students who cannot provide the means themselves. Teachers with creative classroom projects enter an application explaining the idea which is subsequently reviewed according to a rubric which emphasizes innovativeness and merit, clarity of objectives, replication feasibility, suitability of evaluation methods, and cost effectiveness. While the number of grants given out changes yearly, 200-300 grants usually are awarded each year.

Famous quotes containing the words teacher and/or grants:

The memory loaded with mere bookwork is not the thing wanted—is, in fact, rather worse than useless—in the teacher of scientific subjects. It is absolutely essential that his mind should be full of knowledge and not of mere learning, and that what he knows should have been learned in the laboratory rather than in the library.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

Our religion ... is itself profoundly sad—a religion of universal anguish, and one which, because of its very catholicity, grants full liberty to the individual and asks no better than to be celebrated in each man’s own language—so long as he knows anguish and is a painter.
    Charles Baudelaire (1821–1867)
