Demographics

As of 2007, the province had a population of 1.147 million, of which the majority are Kinh (the dominant ethnic group in Vietnam). Minority peoples dwelling in the province are the Ra Glai, the Hoa (Han Chinese), and the Cơ Ho.

Khanh Hoa had an urban population of 466,500 people or 40.7% of the total in 2007, making it the most urbanized province of the South Central Coast. Average population growth per year between 2000 and 2007 was 1.26%, close to the average of the region. Growth was particular strong in the cities and towns (2.24%).
