It is presently led by Mr. S. Ramnath, a protégé of Dr. Pillai.

Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd plans to set up an industrial park, Kera Park, at Kodakara in Thrissur district. Land acquisition is under way, and the company is awaiting clearances.

Since inception, KINFRA has mainly identified itself with land acquisition and development of industrial infrastructure in the form of Parks/ Townships/ Zones. With the objective of boosting industrial growth, KINFRA has been promoting the concept of Theme Parks, which have been set up for the exclusive growth and development of chosen and specified industrial sectors. Food Processing Parks, Apparel Park, Film and Video Park, Export Promotion Industrial Park, Information Technology & Electronics Park, Herbal and Ayurveda Parks, etc. are some of the theme parks already implemented by KINFRA.

Government has given special thrust to promotion of food processing industry due to the enormous potential of the sector for development. In line with this policy, two Food Processing Parks have already been set up by KINFRA, one at Kakkancherry in Malappuram district and the other at Mazhuvannur in Ernakulam district. A third Food Park, in about 85 acres of land at Adoor in Pathanamthitta district, is under implementation. Further, KINFRA also plans to develop a Spices Park at Idukki for the processing of spices.

Besides these, KINFRA has also set up Small Industries Parks under the Integrated Infrastructure Development Scheme of Govt of India, catering exclusively to small scale industrial units in thrust sectors in the State. Such Small Industries Parks have been set up by KINFRA at Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Wayanad and Kasargod districts. Another Park of its kind is being developed by KINFRA at Kunnamthanam in Pathanamthitta district.

Famous quotes containing the words industrial, development and/or corporation:

A few ideas seem to be agreed upon. Help none but those who help themselves. Educate only at schools which provide in some form for industrial education. These two points should be insisted upon. Let the normal instruction be that men must earn their own living, and that by the labor of their hands as far as may be. This is the gospel of salvation for the colored man. Let the labor not be servile, but in manly occupations like that of the carpenter, the farmer, and the blacksmith.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

The American has dwindled into an Odd Fellow—one who may be known by the development of his organ of gregariousness.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The nearest the modern general or admiral comes to a small-arms encounter of any sort is at a duck hunt in the company of corporation executives at the retreat of Continental Motors, Inc.
    C. Wright Mills (1916–1962)
