Kailash Satyarthi

Kailash Satyarthi (born on January 11, 1954) is an Indian crusader against child slavery and child labour. Earlier in 1980, he left a lucrative career as an electrical engineer to initiate a movement to end child slavery and child labour. Despite life-threatening attacks, he has personally led hundreds of raids and rescue operations that have resulted in the liberation of tens of thousands of children. So far his organization Bachpan Bachao Andolan has freed over 80,000 children from various forms of servitude and helped in successful re-integration, rehabilitation and education.
