Jugband Blues

"Jugband Blues" is a song by the English psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd, and is featured on their second album, A Saucerful of Secrets, released in 1968. It was written by Syd Barrett, being his sole writing contribution to the album, and also his last published for the band. Barrett, and the band's management wanted the song to be released as a single. The song was written around the same as "Vegetable Man" which is directed towards the music industry and himself, while "Jugband Blues" is towards anyone within Barrett's orbit.

Famous quotes containing the word blues:

Holly Golightly: You know those days when you’ve got the mean reds?
Paul: The mean reds? You mean like the blues?
Holly Golightly: No, the blues are because you’re getting fat or maybe it’s been raining too long. You’re just sad, that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of.
    George Axelrod (b. 1922)
