Steve Jobs claimed to have grown up in an Eichler home and stated "that his appreciation for Eichler homes instilled in him a passion for making nicely designed products for the mass market". Researchers, however, discovered that he actually had lived in a copycat home designed by another builder instead. Basketball player Kurt Rambis grew up in the Fairgrove Tract in Cupertino, California.
