Jose Miguel Arroyo - Health

Health

The former First Gentleman's fragile health has been a public affair since April 9, 2007, when Arroyo underwent open heart surgery after being diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm - the procedure lasted for ten hours but was considered successful (22 days after the operation, Atty. Arroyo had almost completely recovered and was discharged from hospital). However, Arroyo's health since 2007 has been described as "questionable", with serious abdominal pains resulting in an emergency landing in 2008, and another heart-related hospital visit in 2010.

Famous quotes containing the word health:

All climates agree with brave Chanticleer. He is more indigenous even than the natives. His health is ever good, his lungs are sound, his spirits never flag.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

To safeguard one’s health at the cost of too strict a diet is a tiresome illness indeed.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)

In the continual enterprise of trying to guide appropriately, renegotiate with, listen to and just generally coexist with our teenage children, we ourselves are changed. We learn even more clearly what our base-line virtues are. We listen to our teenagers and change our minds about some things, stretching our own limits. We learn our own capacity for flexibility, firmness and endurance.
—Jean Jacobs Speizer. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Women’s Health Collective, ch. 4 (1978)
