Famous quotes containing the words join the, join and/or parade:
“The truth is that every intelligent man, as you well know, dreams of being a gangster and ruling over society through violence alone. Since this is not as easy as the novels would have us believe, people generally resort to politics and join the cruelest party.”
—Albert Camus (19131960)
“Our ability to fall in love requires enough comfort with our masculinity to join it with someones femininity and feel enhanced. . . . If our mother made us feel secure and proud in our masculinity, then we want to find that again in our wife. If we are really comfortable with our mother, we can even marry a woman who is a friend rather than an adversary, and form a true partnership.”
—Frank Pittman (20th century)
“We are becoming like cats, slyly parasitic, enjoying an indifferent domesticity. Nice and snug in the social our historic passions have withdrawn into the glow of an artificial cosiness, and our half-closed eyes now seek little other than the peaceful parade of television pictures.”
—Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
