John Blake (journalist) - John Blake Publishing

John Blake Publishing

He gravitated towards publishing and 'Blake Publishing' was founded in 1991 with Blake working in partnership with his brother, David Blake. Blake enlisted the help of his criminal contacts and set up his true crime series. His first number one bestseller was The Guv'nor with Lenny McLean and Peter Gerrard. This title was voted the best biography of 1998 After an acrimonious dissolution of the original partnership in March 2002, John Blake went solo. In August 2008 a book published by JBP, On Her Majesty's Service under the name of Ronald Evans, a former bodyguard of Sir Salman Rushdie, had a Declaration of Falsity made against it by a Judge in the High Court for the inclusion of 11 "serious falsehoods" defaming Mr Rushdie.

Blake lives beside the River Thames, near London, with his wife Diane.

Famous quotes containing the words john, blake and/or publishing:

I, a poor peasant, have conquered science. Why can’t I conquer love? Don’t you understand? You must be mine, not his. You are mine.
    P. J. Wolfson, John L. Balderston (1899–1954)

I askèd a thief to steal me a peach
    He turned up his eyes
I ask’d a lithe lady to lie her down
    Holy & meek she cries—

    As soon as I went
    An angel came.
    He wink’d at the thief
    And smild at the dame—

    And without one word said
Had a peach from the tree
    And still as a maid
    Enjoy’d the lady.
    —William Blake (1757–1827)

While you continue to grow fatter and richer publishing your nauseating confectionery, I shall become a mole, digging here, rooting there, stirring up the whole rotten mess where life is hard, raw and ugly.
    Norman Reilly Raine (1895–1971)
