Career
In 1909 Ravenstein joined the Grenadier-Regiment König Wilhelm I. Nr. 7 at Liegnitz. He transferred soon to the 7. West Prussian infantry regiment NR. 155 at Ostrowo, and was promoted to Lieutenant.
