Controversy
Mansfield is no stranger to controversy. He regularly faced the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA) following complaints from the public. The BCCSA upheld several complaints against him
In 2002, Mansfield was criticised following an altercation in an Idols (South Africa) Final Four press conference. He was alleged to have been drunk, and was seen drinking a beer during the televised conference. Mansfield called the remaining four contestants "assholes" and asked Randall Abrahams to leave the press conference.
In 2003, Mansfield was sued for allegedly assaulting the owner of a fast food retailer. Mansfield counter-sued for verbal abuse.
Mansfield was the only radio personality to make the controversial list of Top 100 Great South Africans in 2004 where he was listed at 53rd.

Famous quotes containing the word controversy:
“And therefore, as when there is a controversy in an account, the parties must by their own accord, set up for right Reason, the Reason of some Arbitrator, or Judge, to whose sentence, they will both stand, or their controversy must either come to blows, or be undecided, for want of a right Reason constituted by Nature; so is it also in all debates of what kind soever.”
—Thomas Hobbes (15791688)
“Ours was a highly activist administration, with a lot of controversy involved ... but Im not sure that it would be inconsistent with my own political nature to do it differently if I had it to do all over again.”
—Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
