Dialect or Language
Although many Koreans including people who speak Jeju dialect/language considered it is a dialect of Korean language, it can be classified as a independent language because Jeju dialect/language and other Korean dialects in the mainland are almost mutually unintelligible. UNESCO recognized Jeju speech is a individual language and classified Jeju language as a "critically endangered language" in December 2010.
Jeju dialect/language does not have its ISO 639-1, -2 or -3 code yet, but have two ISO 639-6 codes: "cejm" (generic, as Chejumal) and "chjm" (as Chejumal Spoken).
