Jat Airways

Jat Airways is the national flag carrier and largest airline of Serbia, and formerly Yugoslavia. Originally founded in 1927 as Aeroput, the airline ceased operations during World War II. The airline resumed operations in 1947 and was renamed to JAT - Jugoslovenski Aerotransport on April 1, 1947 and then to Jat Airways in 2003, making it today one of the oldest airlines still in operation. Its flight operations are based at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, and operates scheduled international services to 33 destinations, as well as charters and wet leases. The airline is wholly owned by the government of Serbia and has about 1,230 employees.
