Famous quotes containing the words jack, martin and/or smith:

Sheriff, have you ever watched a friend dying before your eyes and not been able to help? That’s the worst of it. Being helpless. It’s particularly tough when you’re a physician and you know what’s wrong with him, and there isn’t a single solitary thing you or anyone else can do.
—Robert M. Fresco. Jack Arnold. Prof. Gerald Deemer (Leo G. Carroll)

Today everything is different. I can’t even get decent food. Right after I got here I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce and I got egg noodles and catsup. I’m an average nobody, I get to live the rest of my life like a schnook.
Nicholas Pileggi, U.S. screenwriter, and Martin Scorsese. Henry Hill (Ray Liotta)

I have, alas, only one illusion left, and that is the Archbishop of Canterbury.
    —Sydney Smith (1771–1845)
