Istiaia
Istiaia (Greek: Ιστιαία) is a town and a former municipality in Euboea, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Istiaia-Aidipsos, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. Its population is 7,353 (2001). The town is located in the northern end of the island. It was a former capital of Euboea. Istiaia is mentioned in the Iliad by the ancient Greek poet, Homer for its rich vineyards.
