Interstate 95 in Massachusetts - Future Improvements

Future Improvements

MassDOT is currently adding a fourth lane in each direction along the beltway section from the I-95 interchange in Canton to the Route 9 interchange in Wellesley, where the rush-hour traffic has been for some time permitted to use the breakdown lanes on the highway shoulder. The section south of Route 109 is complete, while the section to the north is due to be completed by 2015. Outside of the beltway, the state will begin a $285 million project in 2012 to replace the John Greenleaf Whittier Bridge over the Merrimack River and widening the highway to eight lanes (four in each direction) from the bridge to I-495.

Famous quotes containing the words future and/or improvements:

Everything I do is done within sight of the Führer, so that my faults or mistakes are never hidden from him. I do my very utmost to live and act in such a manner that the Führer should remain satisfied with me; I am hard-working; but whether I shall always be able to cope with the tasks entrusted to me in the future as well, is an open question.
    Martin Bormann (1900–1945)

A country whose buildings are of wood, can never increase in its improvements to any considerable degree.... Whereas when buildings are of durable materials, every new edifice is an actual and permanent acquisition to the state, adding to its value as well as to its ornament.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
