The group's journal, Indian Ocean Survey, is published twice a year, and is edited by Professor P V Rao. In 2010 group has launched a journal called "Journal of the Indian Ocean Region".Published By: Routledge. The principle objective of the journal "is to function as a facilitator and propagator of social science interdisciplinary policy-oriented research on the nature and impact of the human uses of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), with the overall objective of realising comprehensive security"*. • The Security of Sea Lanes of Communication in the Indian Ocean, Kuala Lumpur, Maritime Institute of Malaysia, in press and to be launched later in 2007
• Marine Biodiversity and Fisheries in the Indian Ocean Region, in preparation and built on selected papers given at the February 2007 Oman Conference
• Crucible for Survival: Environmental Justice and Security in the Indian Ocean Region, New Jersey, Rutgers University Press, 2008.
• Fisheries Exploitation in the Indian Ocean: Threats and Opportunities, Singapore, ISEAS Publishing, 2009.
