Greece

The 2012 elections in Greece were overshadowed by the country's dire financial position, with a heavy backlash against the ruling parties that supported stiff austerity measures. The ruling Panhellenic Socialist Movement party lost much ground, with no party having the numbers or the agreement to form a working coalition. As a result, new elections will immediately be held.
