Hulu Selangor is represented in the Dewan Rakyat by YB P. Kamalanathan of (MIC) - (BN). He is known to be a leader who has won the hearts of many just within a year taking oath as the Member of Parliament in Hulu Selangor after the by-elections in April 2010 following the death of Zainal Abidin Ahmad (PKR–PR) losing his life to cancer.
