Team Closure
With the departure of the V8 Supercar franchises, owned by John Kelly and Margaret Kelly and used to operate the team, to their own new team in 2009, the HSV Dealer Team was effectively disbanded at the end of 2008, to be reformed in 2009 as Walkinshaw Racing. Team principal Tom Walkinshaw sourced one franchise from the also disbanded Paul Weel Racing, and another inactive licence from V8 Supercars, commonly referred to as the "30th" or "Walden/Romano" licence.
