“With fingers weary and worn,
With eyelids heavy and red,
A woman sat, in unwomanly rags
Plying her needle and thread—
Stitch! stitch! stitch!
In poverty, hunger, and dirt,”

I believe he will either do this by advocating Prohibition, or else he will run on a Prohibition platform independent of the Democrats. —William Howard Taft (1857–1930)
